　　On April 6th Limai had their third international game of the 2020 - 2021 school year with a U14 basketball against Huijia. This was our first home game of the season and Limai’s first time playing Huijia’s U14 basketball team.

　　Huijia arrived around 16:30, and after about 20 minutes of warm ups the two teams faced off. The game was fairly evenly matched and the two teams stayed within a single-digit score variance for the entirety of the 45 minute game. The game ended with a 28 to 27 win for Limai, and the U14 basketball teams first win of the season bringing their overall record to 1 win, 1 tie, and 0 losses.

　　Our next international game will be April 7th when our U14 football team will face off against Tsinghua. Our next U14 Basketball game of the season will be against Keystone on April 20th at Limai.

　　From the Coach

　　The game against Huijia was a competitive one. We took an early led off an opening 3 pointer from Jerry in Calvert grade 9. A few baskets later we took a 9 - 0 lead, our biggest score advantage of the game. Our offense slowed up a bit later in the first half but the defense stayed strong. Huijia fought back to a very close 17 to 16 Limai advantage at the half time whistle.

　　While the first half was largely dominated by Limai’s offense, the second half proved to be a more balanced game. Our defense stayed strong and like the first half, Huijia was never able to manage a point lead over us. Jerry from Calvert grade 9 was again the point leader of the second half with Booker from Fairmont Grade 8 scoring a few big swats and some steals on defense.

　　All in all it was an exciting game from start to finish. I’m proud of the Limai boys for giving 100% on the court, displaying great sportsmanship throughout the game and for a continued undefeated season!
